Funeral Officiant Services

Why have a funeral?

There are many reasons to have a funeral.

  • Acknowledging the reality of death.

  • Affirming the value of the person who died.

  • Expressing feelings of sadness, anger, and love.

  • Sharing memories.

  • Receiving support from others.

  • Assisting in the transition of the grief journey.

  • Remembering and celebrating the life of the deceased.

There is a growing trend where some families are choosing not to have a funeral. The reasons vary, but this decision is often based with the rising cost of funeral services and other financial reasons in mind or simply not feeling connected to the idea of a formal funeral.

Many are not aware that a funeral can be held just about anywhere. Think of your home, in the backyard, a local event space, winery, golf course, or even a beautiful park.

A funeral does not have to be officiated by a clergy member or be religious in nature. A personal and unique ceremony can include elements of faith or be totally non-religious.

Funerals do not have to be large and formal. They can be an intimate gathering with a more relaxed tone. The options truly are endless. But why is a funeral important?

Funerals help us process what has happened. They help us remember our loved one's life and celebrate all that they meant to us. A funeral helps us feel engaged and connected to a purposeful experience.

It is a final good-bye, and yet it welcomes all the memories that may have been forgotten.

The key is that your loved one's funeral should be meaningful to you and your family, a positive experience that leaves a lasting impact.
